The creepier the better. So when my daughter and I took a road trip through the back roads of North Carolina and spotted this home I had to stop and take pictures.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/annaabner.com\/?attachment_id=1310\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1310\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1310\" src=\"https:\/\/annaabner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Carr-Plantation-1790-5-300x171.jpg\" alt=\"Carr Plantation 1790 5\" width=\"300\" height=\"171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/annaabner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Carr-Plantation-1790-5-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/annaabner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Carr-Plantation-1790-5-1024x584.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lucky for me, the current owner of the house (and descendant of the original owners) saw me snapping photos and ambled out of the auto parts store next door. He told me the rear of the home was built in 1790 by his ancestors the Carr Family. The original plantation went on for miles, but has been whittled down over the centuries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/annaabner.com\/?attachment_id=1309\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1309\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1309\" src=\"https:\/\/annaabner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Carr-Plantation-1790-2-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"Carr Plantation 1790 2\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/annaabner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Carr-Plantation-1790-2-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/annaabner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Carr-Plantation-1790-2-1024x764.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He assured me the interior is structurally sound, but the front roof leaked and damaged the side facing the road.
