{"id":1440,"date":"2014-07-21T13:00:33","date_gmt":"2014-07-21T17:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/annaabner.com\/?p=1440"},"modified":"2014-07-03T17:38:09","modified_gmt":"2014-07-03T21:38:09","slug":"woman-haunted-by-louis-xvii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/annaabner.com\/?p=1440","title":{"rendered":"Woman Haunted By Louis XVII"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Or, A Poltergeist Story<\/h5>\n<p>You can find the original story <a title=\"article\" href=\"http:\/\/entertainment.stv.tv\/tv\/273770-woman-haunted-by-poltergeist-who-claimed-to-be-prince-louis-xvii\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> or scroll down for STV&#8217;s article.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">Woman Haunted By Poltergeist Who Claimed To Be Prince Louis XVII<\/h4>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>As part of its Supernatural Week, today\u00a0This Morning\u00a0met a woman who claimed that as a youngster she and her family were haunted by a poltergeist, who later apparently identified himself as Prince Louis XVII.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Shirley Hitchings and her family lived in fear of the ghost they nicknamed \u2018Donald\u2019, as he banged objects around their house, tore up clothes, and even made them levitate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Today Shirley joined the show to share her supernatural experience, and how it all began years ago in 1956 when Shirley was just 15.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cA key appeared [on a bed] and then that night we were woken, and it was just horrendous mayhem. Things were flying around, things were thrown. Loud bang, bang, bang. And we all go up&#8230; dad went and thought it was the pipes and the electricity, and we that first night we just huddled together in the kitchen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cI held onto my father and said, \u2018please, make it stop, make it go away\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Shirley added: \u201cThis went on for three or fourth months, night after night, and we were really [scared].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The family resorted to calling in a priest to perform several exorcisms, as well as holding s\u00e9ances to try to get to the bottom of the supernatural activity, but nothing worked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The poltergeist] was basically laughing at us. My mum called him Donald&#8230;. And after it went on and on, we found out who he was.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A paranormal expert helped the family get to the bottom of the activity, leaving a pen and paper in a locked room to see if the spirit would communicate with them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt first it was gibberish, and it was half French and half English, but it gave us a clue. And Mr Chibbett, he was the researcher, he analysed it, took it away, and it was just general things at first.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut then as time went on and Mr Chibbett would talk to him, and he was writing one day and said, \u2018please tell us who you really are\u2019&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were all sitting in the kitchen and he went into the back room and there were three or four sheets of paper and he signed himself Your Royal Highness Prince Louis Capet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cApparently Capet isn\u2019t a name that the French Royal Family were know by \u2013 they were know as Bourbons, so that was the first clue, and Chibbett\u2019s ears pricked up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cHe was the Dauphin, the second son he said of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI that lost their heads.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Shirley continued: \u201cHe said he died escaping here coming across the English Channel, the boat went down, he was with an Austrian count, who was the first cousin of his mother who was instructed to get him out of France.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">All of this was divulged in the spirit\u2019s letters, and asked why he would have turned up in Shirley\u2019s family\u2019s home, she said: \u201cAll he would say is I looked like his sister and we never got any more, we didn\u2019t know why he was there, he would never say.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Obviously skeptics were suspicious of this story, but over the years the family invited a number of paranormal experts as well as members of the media into their home to verify the stories, with one reporter sleeping in the same room as Shirley \u2013 who had her hands and feet tied \u2013 to experience the sensation of the spirit\u2019s interactions with her.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">&lt;3 Anna<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Or, A Poltergeist Story You can find the original story here or scroll down for STV&#8217;s article.
