Oh, God bless the Internet. Just check out the following Craigslist\u00a0ad and its accompanying picture, please. (Bolding my own and out of love.)<\/p>\n
This sword is from the 1700s. I got it at an antique store in my memaw\u2019s home town back in 1984. The person who sold it to me told me to be careful because there is a 90+<\/strong>% chance that it is cursed. Since it\u2019s been in my house my life has descended into pure chaos. My knitting group<\/strong> came over and they all said they could feel a strange energy in my sword room<\/strong> (I have a collection of over 100 swords. This is my only haunted sword<\/strong>). Since i got this sword, about 3 times a week a crucifix will fall off of my wall for no reason. I am 76 years old. I cannot have this cursed item in my house anymore. Please take it off my hands!!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Listen, everyone, don\u2019t get the wrong idea about collecting ancient weaponry. Heck, this gal\u2019s collected over 100 swords<\/em>, and this is the first one possessed by the undead! I bet if she didn\u2019t have a crucifix she\u2019d never even have known the difference!<\/p>\n
Incidentally, this is almost exactly how Joe Hill\u2019s Heart Shaped Box<\/em> begins. Any potential buyers looking to take that massive sword off that tiny woman\u2019s hands better have a plan for how to deal with their new roommates. (Ghosts just can not<\/em> stick to\u00a0chore wheels.)<\/p>\n
